Attendance Rules
“Regular Attendance Builds the Habit of Responsibility”
Regular attendance is essential for every student’s academic growth and overall development. A.S.A.S.V.M. School expects all students to maintain discipline and punctuality in attending classes.
1. Minimum Attendance Requirement
Every student must maintain at least 75% attendance in each academic term to be eligible for promotion or appearing in examinations.
Students failing to meet the attendance requirement without valid reasons may not be allowed to sit for final exams.
2. Daily Attendance
Attendance is taken at the beginning of the first period each day.
Students arriving after the attendance is marked will be considered late.
Three late arrivals in a month will be treated as one day’s absence.
3. Leave of Absence
Leave must be applied for in writing by the parent or guardian, stating the reason and duration.
The leave application should be submitted in advance, except in case of sudden illness or emergency.
In case of medical leave, a doctor’s certificate must be attached for absences exceeding three days.
4. Absence Without Permission
Absence from school without prior permission is considered a serious breach of discipline.
A student absent for more than 10 consecutive days without notice may have his/her name removed from the school rolls.
Re-admission, if granted, will be subject to the discretion of the Principal and payment of re-admission fees.
5. Attendance During School Functions
Attendance is compulsory on national festivals, annual day, sports day, examinations, and other notified school functions.
Absence during these events will be viewed seriously unless supported by a valid reason.
6. Late Arrival / Early Departure
Students arriving late must report to the school office and get a late slip signed before entering the class.
Leaving the school during working hours is not permitted without written permission from parents and approval of the Principal/Class Teacher.
7. Rejoining After Illness
A student who has been absent due to illness must submit a fitness certificate before rejoining school.
Students suffering from contagious diseases must remain at home until fully recovered.
8. Half-Day Leave
Half-day leave is not encouraged.
Once a student enters the school premises, he/she will not be allowed to leave early unless accompanied by a parent or guardian with written permission.
9. Absence During Examinations
No re-examination or special test will be conducted for absentees without a valid reason.
In case of medical emergencies, written intimation with a medical certificate must be submitted immediately.
10. Parent’s Role
Parents are requested to ensure that their child attends school regularly and punctually.
They must check and sign the attendance record in the school diary regularly.
Our Belief
“Attendance is the first step toward achievement — every day in school counts.”
